What is the Beauty in Motion Awards?
Beauty in Motion Awards is an online global competition that will feature editorial videos from the best in professional beauty. We are back for our year three Spring 2025. As we grow bigger and better every year we thank you for your support and enthusiasum for the most innovative digital beauty industry awards that pushes the limits of creativity.

The Beauty in Motion Awards will showcase your editorial work in the mediums of videos, reels, animated still images or AI enhanced concepts of your editorial creations.
The entry must be a minimum of 30 seconds up to 1 minute max in length.
There are many categories to choose from specifying cuts, color, style, shape, and texture.
The awards will be judged by some of the world’s top industry artists, and beauty pros. Be seen and evaluated by some of the best industry leaders and brands.

FORMAT IS PORTRAIT FOR ALL CATEGORIES. TEAM CATEGORY ACCEPTS LANDSCAPE FORMAT.
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE MOVEMENT: VIDEO, AI VIDEO OR VIDEO REEL FORMAT.
IF YOU HAVE A STILL IMAGE THE ONLY CATEGORY YOU CAN ENTER IS THE STILL IMAGE ANIMATION CATEGORY. PLEASE SEE EXAMPLES OF 2024 WINNERS BELOW.
IF YOU ARE USING AI TO CREATE A FULL RANGE OF MOTION VIDEO USING A STILL IMAGE; THEN YOU CAN ENTER ALL CATEGORIES – NOT THE STILL IMAGE ANIMATION CATEGORY.
YOU CAN ENTER EITHER A SINGLE MODEL OR MULTIPLE MODELS FOR EACH CATEGORY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TEAM AND COLLECTION WHICH MUST BE MULTIPLE MODELS.
THIS YEAR THERE IS A BTS CATEGORY FOR THOSE WANTING TO ENTER THEIR BEHIND THE SCENES REELS.
ARTIST EXPRESSION: Video of avant-garde, extreme looks which can include materials other than hair. One or more models.
DIVERSE TEXTURE: Video of multi-cultural curl, frizz, waves, afros using multi-cultural models. No straight hair styles. One or more models.
EDITORIAL: Video of your editorial, magazine, runway, styles. One or more models.
COLOR EXTRA: Video of editorial or avant-garde color techniques. One or more models.
BIG HAIR: Video of big hair styles. The BIGGER the better using hair extensions. One or more models.
MALE STYLE: Video of mens hair styles. One or more models.
COLLECTION: Video of your collection of three or more models.
TEAM: Video: A team submission showcasing four or more models from your salon team. Can use landscape format here.
NEW CATEGORIES:
BTS REEL: Movement with Video Reel: Show us how it’s done! Your behind the scenes video reel will show the team in action and the models on set. One or more models.
NEWCOMER EMERGING TALENT: For students currently enrolled in school and new talent up to 4 years in the industry. This category is wide open to your creativity. Movement with Video or Reel or a Still Image Animation of one or more models in editorial, runway, magazine style. Can enter men or women in this category. One or more models. This category is free to enter! Email me at the link at the bottom of this page for your discount code.
STILL IMAGE ANIMATION: The only category to use your still editorial images. Make it come alive with animation. You can use an app like IN-STORIES or AI platforms to animate your image. This category is open to one or multiple models in any category from editorial, color, mens, texture or a collection.
*Please note the Nail category no longer exists this year
STILL IMAGE ANIMATION CATEGORY EXAMPLES
Submissions must be 30 seconds to one minute for each entry/category.
RULES AND CRITERIA
- Competition is open to all professional beauty artists globally
- You can use images or footage shot within the last year
- All entries must be minimum 30 seconds to 1 minute long.
- We only accept high standards of video and photography
- Entries that don’t meet the category and rules criteria may be disqualified
- Entry fees will not be refunded if your work is disqualified
- Judging decisions are final
- Entries can be either portrait or landscape
- Team Category can be landscape or portrail format
- Any on-set or behind-the-scenes footage can be used for the BTS category
- No categories can use AI generated models/hair. All entries based on actual photography or videography
- Animation category can use AI or an app to create motion along with your authentic photo shoot images
- Music must be royalty-free. Do not use audio you do not have a license for which we won’t be able to share on YouTube
- Entries can be color or black and white with the exception of the hair color category
- Artists can enter each category only once
- You can enter several categories using the same collection and/or models as long as the submissions adhere to the criteria for the category entered
- No mannequin heads allowed. Real models only
- AI-generated models not allowed. Real models only which can be enhanced by AI
- Do not include titles, your name, headings or any written text on your entry
- For judging purposes do not put your name or credits in your entry video
VIDEO FILE ENTRY
- The name of your file should be your name and your category eg: Danny Pato – Editorial Color
- Files should be saved as an MP4 file
- Videos or animations should be 30 seconds to one minute in length
- Choose the correct category button below to download your entry
- Make sure you wait until your file is fully uploaded
- Trouble shooting: if you are having problems uploading to the file on your phone try a desktop
USAGE
- Release forms not required. By filling out the entry form you agree to usage
- By entering the Beauty in Motion Awards you agree to the usage of images and videos submitted
- Beauty Hub Magazine has the right to publish online, on social media, and/or in print all entries submitted to the competition

HOW TO ENTER
STEP 1:
PAYMENT: $60 USD ($85 CAD) per category
- This will take you to a secure checkout to pay using Stripe
- You will receive a confirmation email with a post-payment invoice
- Include this invoice number on your entry form
- You must have this proof of payment before taking the next step
STEP 2:
SUBMISSION ENTRY FORM INCLUDES:
- Category you are entering
- Your name, salon or spa or freelance, phone number, email address, and social media handles
- Full team credits first and last names: photographer and/or videographer, stylist, makeup artist, nail artist, assistants, and models (if applicable)
- Team Instagram handles
- Include your payment code you will recieve by email once payment has processed
- Fill out this digital entry form. There is no printed form
- Entries will not be accepted without filling out this entry form correctly
- This form asks for your permission for usage

- Upload your animation or MP4 video file entry using the category buttons below
