What is the Beauty in Motion Awards?
Beauty in Motion Awards is an online global competition that will feature editorial videos from the best in professional beauty. We are back for year three in March of 2025. As we grow bigger and better every year we thank you for your support and enthusiasum for the most innovative digital beauty industry awards that pushes the limits of creativity.
Take your creativity to the next level and into the future of digital media. This is not your traditional hair competition.
The Beauty in Motion Awards will showcase your editorial work in the mediums of videos, reels, animated still images or AI enhanced concepts of your editorial images and videos.
The entry must be a minimum of 15 seconds up to one minute max in length.
There are 13 categories to choose from specifying cuts, color, style, shape, and texture.
The awards will be judged by some of the world’s top industry artists, and beauty pros.

HOW TO ENTER
CATEGORIES:
HAIR
15 seconds to 1 minute editorial video or still animation. One model or a collection of models.
1. Artistic Expression – avant-garde, wild and expressive, can include materials other than hair.
2. Sculpture -architectural, unique molded shapes, can use hair extensions.
3. Diverse Texture– multi-cultural textured hair, curl, frizz, wave.
4. Editorial Color – editorial, edgy and commercial hair color looks.
5. Color Extra – avant-garde, runway, unique color placement, extreme color looks.
6. Big Hair – use of hair extensions for maximum styles. The bigger the better.
7. Male Style – all variations of men’s cuts both long and short as well as barber styles.
8. *Editorial: Short or long editorial and commercial styles.
Team and Collection
15 seconds to 1 minute editorial video or still animation. Three or more models.
Horizontal format preferred.
9. *Team: A collection of three or more looks from your team of stylists.
10. Collection: A commerical editorial collection of three or more looks from a single stylist. If your collection is avant garde you should enter the Artistic Expression category.
Nails
15 seconds to 1 minute video of your nail look showing one final look only.
(Not a how-to video of the process). You are allowed 2 entries per category.
11. Nail Art – high fashion editorial or runway looks.
12. Avant Garde Nail Art– no boundaries. Show us shape, avant garde, texture, extensions and nail art.
NEW!: Student Editorial
13. Editorial magazine styled entry. Open to students, apprentices and new hairstylists that have been licensed for less than five years. Proof of enrolment required from the school you are attending or had attended within the last two years OR proof of aprentiseship.
Submissions must be at least 15 seconds to under one minute for each entry/category for Instagram sharing.
ANIMATION CONCEPT

RULES AND CRITERIA
- Competition is open to all professional beauty artists globally
- You can use images or footage shot within the last year
- All entries must be minimum 15 seconds to UNDER 1 minute long. Any longer and your content will get cut off when shared on social media
- We only accept high standards of video and photography
- Entries that don’t meet the category and rules criteria may be disqualified
- Entry fees will not be refunded if your work is disqualified
- Judging decisions are final
- Entries can be either portrait or landscape with exception of the Team and Collection categories that must be horizontal
- Any on-set or behind-the-scenes footage can be used with focus on the finished look.
- Still images can be animated with AI or an app to create motion. App suggestions: Dizzi, Instories, Splice, MotionLeap
- If using audio, be sure it is royalty-free. Do not use audio you do not have a license for
- Entries can be color or black and white except for the hair color and nail categories
- Artists can enter each category only once
- You can enter several categories using the same collection and/or models as long as the submissions adhere to the criteria for the category entered
- No mannequin heads allowed
- AI-generated work not allowed. Only real models please!
- Do not include titles or headings or text on your entry
- For judging purposes do not put your name or credits in your entry video
VIDEO FILE ENTRY
- The name of your file should be your name and your category eg: Danny Pato – Editorial Color
- Files should be saved as an MP4 file
- Videos or animations should be 15 seconds to less than one minute in length
- Choose the correct button for your category below to download your entry
- Make sure you wait until your file is fully uploaded
- Trouble shooting: if you are having problems uploading to the file on your phone try a desktop
USAGE
- Release forms not required
- By entering the Beauty in Motion Awards you agree to the usage of images and videos submitted
- Beauty Hub Magazine has the right to publish online, on social media, and/or in print all entries submitted to the competition

PAYMENT: $60 USD per category
- This will take you to a secure checkout to pay using Stripe
- You will receive a confirmation email with a post-payment invoice
- Include this invoice number on your entry form
- You must have this proof of payment before taking the next step
STEP 2:
SUBMISSION ENTRY FORM INCLUDES:
- Category you are entering
- Your name, salon or spa or freelance, phone number, email address, and social media handles
- Full team credits first and last names: photographer and/or videographer, stylist, makeup artist, nail artist, assistants, and models (if applicable)
- Team Instagram handles
- Include your payment code you will recieve by email once payment has processed
- Fill out this digital entry form. There is no printed form
- Entries will not be accepted without filling out this entry form correctly
- This form asks for your permission for usage

- Upload your animation or MP4 video file entry using the category buttons below
- Rename your video file: Your Name then Category – eg: Danny Pato – Editorial Color
