SS2024 PARIS FASHION WEEK

Collection Inspiration: “This collection is incredibly expressive and flamboyant, but chic and tasteful – think giant faux furs, silk gowns and opulent shirts adorned with flowers. I wanted the nails to be traditionally fabulous but with a modern twist. Strokes of vivid color beautifully complemented the clothing with a hint of sparkle on each nail, and a soft stiletto shape that gives fierce but is still wearable day-to-day!” – Christian Cowan.

Nail Inspiration: “The nails for Christian Cowan SS24 is a compilation of looks with varying minute details, including shifting smile line details, playing with velvet/glossy finishes, and crystal adornments in a well-planned way. We loved that the nail collection was cohesive, yet each of the seven looks we sent down the runway was different in its own way” – Lead Nail Artist, Julie Kandalec 

Nail Look Breakdown

  1. If not using nail tips, begin with P.E.P. (for more details visit CND.com).
  2. Apply a layer of CND PLEXIGELTM Bonder and cure in the CNDTM LED Lamp using preset button 1.
  3. Using CNDTM Future Forms with CND PLEXIGELTM Builder build medium to long stiletto nail architecture.
    Cure using button 2B.
  4. Clean with 99% IPA.
  5. Shape and refine the nail using a 180-grit file & buffer.
  6. Clean with 99% IPA.
  7. Apply two layers of CNDTM ShellacTM in Powder My Nose, Satin Pajamas, Quartz Correct, Climb to the
    Top-az    , Black Pool, Absolutely Radishing, or Steel Kisses to the base of the nail, leaving the tips clear. Cure each layer using preset button 2S.

For Powder My Nose and Satin Pajamas:

  1. Using the brush in the bottle, polish the nail bed with CNDTM ShellacTM in Powder My
    Nose or Satin Pajamas in an exaggerated oval shape, and cure.
  2. Outline the free edge and the smile line of the nail with CNDTM ShellacTM in Cream Puff,
    leaving the center of the tip entirely clear, and cure.
  3. Using CND PLEXIGELTM Builder, adorn the top-center of the nail with a single round crystal, and cure.
  4. Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM No Wipe+ Top Coat to seal, and cure using preset button 3.

For Quartz Correct:

  • Using the brush in the bottle, polish the nail bed with CNDTM ShellacTM in Quartz Correct in an exaggerated oval shape, and cure.
  • Outline the free edge of the nail with CNDTM ShellacTM in Quartz Correct, leaving the tip entirely clear, and cure.
  • Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM No Wipe+ Top Coat to seal, and cure using preset button 3.
  • Using a sponge applicator, immediately burnish in CNDTM Over The Top EffectsTM in Off the Chain evenly to the surface of the nail.
  • Using CND PLEXIGELTM Builder, adorn the top-center of the nail with a single round crystal, and cure.
  • Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM No Wipe+ Top Coat to seal, and cure using the preset button 

For Climb to the Top-az

  • Using the brush in the bottle, polish the nail bed with CNDTM ShellacTM in Climb to the Top-Az in an exaggerated oval shape, and cure.
  • Outline the free edge with CNDTM ShellacTM in Climb to the Top-Az and cure using preset button 3.
  • Outline the smile line of the nail with CNDTM ShellacTM in Cream Puff, leaving the center of the tip entirely clear, and cure.
  • Using CND PLEXIGELTM Builder, adorn the top-center of the nail with a single round crystal, and cure.
    Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM No Wipe+ Top Coat to seal, and cure using preset button 3.
    Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM Matte Top Coat to finish, and cure using preset button 3.

For Black Pool

  • Using the brush in the bottle, polish the nail bed with CNDTM ShellacTM in Black Pool in an exaggerated oval shape, and cure..
  • For Steel Kisses
    Using the brush in the bottle, polish the nail bed with CNDTM ShellacTM in Steel Kisses in
  • an exaggerated oval shape, and cure.
  • Outline the free edge with CNDTM ShellacTM in Black Pool and cure using preset button 3.
  • Outline the smile line of the nail with CNDTM ShellacTM in Black Pool, and cure.
  • TM No Wipe+ Top Coat to seal, and cure using preset Apply a layer of CNDTM ShellacTM Matte Top Coat to finish, and cure using preset button 3.
  • Apply a layer of CNDTM Shellac, button 3.
    • Using a thin brush, outline the free edge of the nail with CNDTM ShellacTM in Steel Kisses, and cure.
    • Using CND PLEXIGELTM Builder, adorn the smile line of the nail with round crystals, and cure.
    • Using CND PLEXIGELTM Builder, adorn the top-center of the nail with a single round crystal, and cure.
    • Apply a drop of CNDTM SolarOilTM to condition the nail and cuticles.
