“Keep your mind open and never stop learning. Once you think you know it all, it might be time
to move on.”
What country are you from and where do you live?
I am originally from Long Island, New York and I currently go back and forth between New York and LA.
Title of what you do and what company you work with?
I am the Artistic Director for Moroccanoil.
Education background (Hair school, art school, no school)?
I attended Lindenhurst High School, then Nassau College in Garden City, Long Island for Fashion Buying and Merchandising. I also attended Wilfred Beauty Academy on Long Island for Cosmetology.
What is your signature style/artistic expression to your work?
I think most people would think of my style as glamour hair and old Hollywood wave. I would get hired for editorial jobs just for my waves.
Do you have a career turning point or big break that has helped your career?
I would have to say my first agency job was my big break because once you have the opportunity to show your talent and professionalism and work with celebrities it opens many more doors.
What was your scariest and proudest moment in your career?
My scariest and proudest moment was when I was hired to assist Danilo, I was worried I wouldn’t be good enough since he is one of the best hairstylists in the world. He was kind and shared so much information with me. I worked hard and he wanted me to assist him again the next day.
What is next for your career goals?
I am very happy being the Artistic Director for Moroccanoil. I think I wouldn’t mind opening a salon again. It is a tremendous amount of work but I do miss it!
What advice would you give to someone starting out in your business?
I will share the best piece of advice that I was given by my mentor when I was an assistant… Keep your mind open and never stop learning. Once you think you know it all, it might be time to move on.
